Email systems have undergone significant changes over the last decades. When email was new, there was virtually no secure setting and anyone could pretend to be someone else. This meant that spam and scams were widespread.
Fast-forwarding by 2020 and the landscape of the email system has changed radically. Now the email servers are certified and the emails are digitally signed. This poses a challenge for Odoo system builders because we can’t just connect a server to the Internet and expect business email to work right away.
For any business application - such as Odoo - to be able to send e-mail reliably, the system administrator must set the DNS settings of the Odoo server and client domain.
